drm/i915: Actually set the reset bit in i965_reset
a little confusion about when wait_for times out has been introduced -
wait for loops _until_ the condition is true.
This fixes gpu reset on my gm45, testing with my hangman code shows
that it's now fairly reliable - it only died after well over 100 reset
cycles.

On gen4+ we don't reset the display unit, so resetting the complete
modeset state should not be necessary.
We can't do reset on gen3 anyway, which leaves us with gen2 reset:
According to Chris Wilson, that doesn't work so great, so he suggested
we just ignore that. If the need ever arrises, we can re-add it later
on.

- reset the stop_rings infrastructure while resetting the hw to
avoid angering the hangcheck right away (and potentially declaring
the gpu permanently wedged).
- ignore reset failures when hanging due to the hangman - we don't
have reset code for all generations.

... by writing (anything) to i915_error_state.
This way we can simulate a bunch of gpu hangs and run the error_state
capture code every time (without the need to reload the module).
To make that happen we need to abandon the simple seq_file wrappers
provided by the drm core. While at it put the new error_state
refcounting to some good use and associated the error_state to the
debugfs when opening the file. Otherwise the error_state could change
while someone is reading it. This should help greatly when we finally
get around to split up the giant single seq_file block that the
error_state file currently is into smaller parts.

gpu reset is a very important piece of our infrastructure.
Unfortunately we only really it test by actually hanging the gpu,
which often has bad side-effects for the entire system. And the gpu
hang handling code is one of the rather complicated pieces of code we
have, consisting of
- hang detection
- error capture
- actual gpu reset
- reset of all the gem bookkeeping
- reinitialition of the entire gpu
This patch adds a debugfs to selectively stopping rings by ceasing to
update the hw tail pointer, which will result in the gpu no longer
updating it's head pointer and eventually to the hangcheck firing.
This way we can exercise the gpu hang code under controlled conditions
without a dying gpu taking down the entire systems.
Patch motivated by me forgetting to properly reinitialize ppgtt after
a gpu reset.
Usage:
echo $((1 << $ringnum)) > i915_ring_stop # stops one ring
echo 0xffffffff > i915_ring_stop # stops all, future-proof version
then run whatever testload is desired. i915_ring_stop automatically
resets after a gpu hang is detected to avoid hanging the gpu to fast
and declaring it wedged.

registers. Instead of open-coding everything we can take advantage of
regmap API which provides nice functions to do this kind of things.
In addition there is no need for custom debugfs file for dumping

There is a potential problem if we call smb347_irq_enable() from
smb347_irq_init() because smb347_irq_enable() makes the device registers
read-only once it returns and smb347_irq_init() expects them to still be
read-write. Currently no harm happens because it is the last call we make
in smb347_irq_init().
Anyway a better place for enabling IRQs is at the end of probe function
and this is also symmetric to call smb347_irq_disable() which is done at
the beginning of remove function.

PFC stats are only tabulated when PFC is enabled. However in IEEE
mode the ieee_pfc pfc_tc bits were not checked and the calculation
was aborted.
This results in statistics not being reported through ethtool and
possible a false Tx hang occurring when receiving pause frames.

Like other supported (igp) PHYs, the driver needs to be able to force the
master/slave mode on 82577. Since the code is the same as what already
exists in the code flow for igp PHYs, move it to a new function to be
called for both flows.

Before this patch, ACPI_STATE_D3 incorrectly referenced D3hot
in some places, but D3cold in other places.
After this patch, ACPI_STATE_D3 always means ACPI_STATE_D3_COLD;
and all references to D3hot use ACPI_STATE_D3_HOT.
ACPI's _PR3 method is used to enter both D3hot and D3cold states.
What distinguishes D3hot from D3cold is the presence _PR3
(Power Resources for D3hot) If these resources are all ON,
then the state is D3hot. If _PR3 is not present,
or all _PR0 resources for the devices are OFF,
then the state is D3cold.
This patch applies after Linux-3.4-rc1.
A future syntax cleanup may remove ACPI_STATE_D3
to emphasize that it always means ACPI_STATE_D3_COLD.

This adds a new sysfs file called 'voltage_ocv' which gives the
Open Circuit Voltage of the battery.
This property can be used for platform shutdown policies and
can be useful for initial capacity estimations.

This patch adds suspend/resume methods to the driver.
In suspend method irq line is disabled to avoid i2c
read/write errors from the interrupt handler as the
i2c bus itself could be in suspend state.
In resume function irq line will be re-enabled.

There are a couple issues here caused by confusion between sizeof()
and ARRAY_SIZE(). "table_size" should be the number of elements, but we
should allocate it with kcalloc() so that we allocate the correct number
of bytes.
In max17042_init_model() we don't allocate enough space so we go past
the end of the array in max17042_read_model_data() and
max17042_model_data_compare().
In max17042_verify_model_lock() we allocate the right amount of space
but we call max17042_read_model_data() with the wrong number of elements
and also in the for loop we go past the end of the array.

'ARM: OMAP3: USB: Fix the EHCI ULPI PHY reset issue' (1fcb57d0f) created a regression
with Beagleboard xM if booting the kernel after running 'usb start' under u-boot.
Finishing the reset before calling 'usb_add_hcd' fixes the regression. This is most likely due to
usb_add_hcd calling the driver's reset and init functions which expect the hardware to be
up and running.

In each remaining case the tty_lock is associated with a specific tty. This
means we can now lock on a per tty basis. We do need tty_lock_pair() for
the pty case. Uglier but still a step in the right direction.

get_current_tty has its own consistent locking. That means a pile of the
tty lock cases are not needed. As get_current_tty also keeps a reference the
tty object lifetime means we can propogate the lock removal out.

This is V2 of the Emma Mobile 8250 platform driver.
The hardware itself has according to the data sheet
up to 64 byte FIFOs but at this point we only make
use of the 16550 compatible mode.
To support this piece of hardware the common UART
registers need to be remapped, and the access size
differences need to be handled.
The DLL and DLM registers can due to offset collision
not be remapped easily, and because of that this
driver makes use of ->dl_read() and ->dl_write()
callbacks. This in turn requires a registration
function that takes 8250-specific paramenters.
Future potential enhancements include DT support,
early platform driver console and fine grained PM.

APIs using devres frequently want to implement a "remove and free the
resource" operation so it seems sensible that they should be able to
just have devres do the freeing for them since that's a big part of what
devres is all about.

It's not massively obvious (at least to me) that removing and freeing a
resource does not involve calling the release function for the resource
but rather only removes the management of it. Make the documentation more
explicit.

Some accessory detection mechanisms are able to detect that something is
physically present in the socket separately to identifying what is present
in the socket. This information can be useful to applications, for example
allowing them to indicate that a potentially broken accessory is present,
so provide a standard way to report it to userspace.

I previously cleaned up the err() call usage in this driver, but it
really was calling this macro instead. To remove future confusion, just
delete this unused macro now.
Ideally, the warn() and info() macros should also be removed, and the
"real" dev_warn() and dev_info() calls should be used instead.
